_{Depression occurs when a person learns to interpret the world in a negative way. Often in times, a person's own reasoning of an event dictate how they feel. For example, a company lays off 2 people, one might think,"It's probably because of the economy, I'll try my best to find another job" while the other wonders what they did wrong. The second person's interpretation of the same event becomes distorted in a way that it must've happened because of them. As a result, they may lose hope, become pessimistic or blame themselves for things outside their control.

Therefore, it's important to look at all possibilities of a situation before jumping to "it's my fault", and to judge optimisticly, too.}
